Are Bali Weddings Legal in Turkey?

Is your Bali marriage recognised in Turkey?
Yes, once registered. Turkey requires a marriage abroad to be registered to take effect in Turkish records, so recognition is administrative rather than automatic. A marriage becomes legal in Indonesia once the religious ceremony is performed and recorded with the civil registry, and your Indonesian marriage certificate is the proof you carry home.
After the wedding: register it within 30 days
A Turkish-citizen spouse notifies the marriage within 30 days at the nearest Turkish consulate, which enters it in the family register through the population directorate. Missing the 30 days does not void the marriage, but a late fine applies.
Apostille and translation
Both countries are in the Apostille Convention, so your certificate needs an Indonesian apostille and a notarised Turkish translation. An apostille is a standard international certification of a public document, and since Indonesia joined the Apostille Convention in 2022 its authorities can issue one on your marriage certificate.
