Are Bali Weddings Legal in Singapore?
The honest answer for Singaporean couples: recognised automatically, registration optional.

Short version, so you can relax: Yes. A valid overseas marriage is automatically recognised for all purposes of Singapore law, with no need to re-register it with the Registry of Marriages.

Being legally married is a separate thing from the ceremony, and it is what matters when Singapore has to treat you as a married couple, for a spouse visa, a name change or family paperwork. Is your Bali marriage recognised in Singapore?
Yes. A valid overseas marriage is automatically recognised for all purposes of Singapore law, with no need to re-register it with the Registry of Marriages. A marriage becomes legal in Indonesia once the religious ceremony is performed and recorded with the civil registry, and your Indonesian marriage certificate is the proof you carry home.
After the wedding: recognised automatically, registration optional
Registration with ROM is purely voluntary, mostly for record convenience, and most couples skip it. If you do register, there is a small fee.
Apostille and translation
Both countries are in the Apostille Convention, so your certificate takes an Indonesian apostille and, if you choose to register, an endorsed English translation. An apostille is a standard international certification of a public document, and since Indonesia joined the Apostille Convention in 2022 its authorities can issue one on your marriage certificate.
